I don’t know about you, but I can’t ever bring myself to throw away any of my kids’ art projects. Here’s a solution to all the clutter: this is Art Central at my house! The kids can doodle on the chalkboard, hang their art on clothespins or tack up messages with magnets. All while I’m busy in the kitchen just steps away.
There’s an added bonus….a bulletin board made of recycled corks where I can pin invitations and other fun things.
It’s an easy project. The section was measured into thirds and framed with standard molding. The magnet board is simply a sheet of metal from Lowe’s, cut to fit the space. I have to admit I’m a bit of a magnet collector, so this area is really more for me!
Three rows of taut wire hold artwork attached with binder clips. The chalkboard could be any color of chalkboard paint you desire! I like to change it up often…sometimes a quote for the kids is featured. Other times it might be a welcome for visitors, a holiday greeting, or doodles by the kids.
It’s a great conversation starter, and it makes me happy to see my children’s colorful art.
